Santa Barbara Infrared (SBIR) offers blackbody sources with various sizes and temperature ranges on its blackbody systems with temperature ranges from -40°C to 1000°C supported and sizes from 1 inch to 12 inches. Blackbody radiation sources are designed for use as flood sources for non-uniformity correction or sensor calibration, and as differential sources for MRT, MTF, SiTF and other standard IR sensor characterisation tests. An optional new ultra-black surface coating – VANTABlack®-S-IR – can be applied to the source plate providing unprecedented emissivity on a flat plate blackbody system.

Our blackbody family includes seven different varieties to choose from. The Infinity family offers four types of precision blackbody systems and our extended area sources offer two additional types of precision blackbodies to support all levels of IR testing. Our latest Nightingale model is a body temperature reference (BTR) source that is purpose-designed for testing IR cameras deployed for human body temperature monitoring and fever detection.
